Message from the past Beth Haroeh Shule President, Beverley Honig BA LLB MBA
As Beth Haroehs' President, I would like to proudly welcome you to the launch of our website. Beth Haroeh is a modern orthodox, established Shule kehilah for the past 30 years or more, and is experiencing a renaissance with growing membership, simchas BH, wider community events that are the talk of the town, and now this website so we can stay in touch virtually
Who we are
Our name - Beth Haroeh - typifies vision and hope ensconced in warmth and friendliness.
Every week we are blessed with some of the best speakers in the country, some of the most melodious chazzanim, the most accurate and tuneful layners and the most delectable kiddushim. All this under the spiritual leadership of our esteemed Reb Leor Broh who has led the Beth Haroeh congregation for the past 20 years or more.
We represent modern orthodoxy and comprise professionals, educators and intellectuals, students, teachers and leaders. We welcome all to daven with us.
We are a shule of friends and welcome new friend, from locals to visiting tourists to people who want a refreshing change. The diversity on our kehilah is what makes us most exciting. If indeed you are passing through please feel free to contact us by clicking here so we can offer you hospitality and introduce you around.
What we do
Each week we are privileged to honour our Kiddush sponsors as 'Visionaries', and recurring kiddush sponsors as 'Luminaries'.
Over the past year, We have adorned the Shule with glistening mosaics by Merryl Sacher of Merryls Mosaics. And we have just won a grant from Bendigo Bank to launch a mentoring program for young adults. We have also become known as the simchah shule, and whether you are having an aufruf or bar or batmizvah, we will help you celebrate in hamish style. We deck out the shule to your colour theme, commemorate your simchah with a certificate, and honour you with personal addresses and gifts.
We have an active committee who are full of great ideas and worthy initiatives such as Tzedakah Projects, concerts and festival events. Our President and lay leaders comprise the following board: Beverley Honig (President and Chairman), Gary Esterman (Vice President), Selwyn Braver (Co Secretary), Michael Gordon (Immediate Past President), Lawrence Cher (Gabbai), David Greenberger (Gabbai), Ralph Greenberger, Janie Fixler (Events), Michael Lewis (Tzedakah projects), Michael Granek, Abigail Cooper (Co-opted Aviva Greenberger)
And each week I send members and friends on our database a meaningful email about the parshah. So if you are not on the email database and would like to be please click here. Otherwise welcome to our Shule!
